04 — Parent Voice & Governance

Families with a real voice in the institution.

Verae Valores recognizes parents as the primary stewards of their children's formation.

When a Concern Is Serious

Never dismissed. Never handled informally behind closed doors.

When a parent raises a serious concern involving any of the following, the school provides a structured process through which it may be presented, examined, discussed, and resolved:

Religion

Health Education

Curriculum

Student Dignity

Family Authority

Political Influence

The Founding Philosophy

The Process

A fair opportunity to explain the issue and propose a resolution.

01

Presented

The concern is brought forward through a structured, documented process.

02

Examined

The issue and the principle at stake are identified clearly.

03

Discussed

The parent, school leadership, educators, and other affected members may be heard.

04

Resolved

Major disputes are brought before the governing board for a documented decision.

Not the Loudest Voice

Orderly. Respectful. Evidence-based.

Discussion will be orderly, respectful, evidence-based, and governed by the school’s founding charter. The purpose of this process is not to allow the loudest voice to prevail. It is to ensure that serious concerns receive serious consideration and that the school remains accountable to the mission families agreed to support.

Written, Reasoned Decisions

Board decisions on major matters are documented in writing.

Every major decision includes the reasoning behind it and the principles on which it was based — a record the community can return to.

Parents will always have a voice. The school will always have a mission. Neither will be ignored.

The Founding Circle

The same care extends to how students are admitted.

Scholarships are awarded on character, alignment, and need — never a lowering of the standard, only a widening of who can reach it.
